Choosing slotted rulers and guided cutters

Check the interval and reach.

The Stripology XL and Squared both have 14¾-inch slots. Their bodies take up different amounts of space. The Quarters Mini has closer quarter-inch slots with alternating reach. Look at both values when you have small pieces and a pattern that asks for narrow increments.

Plan cuts outside the marked positions.

Consult the instructions for offset placement, if available. Check which reference line moves the fabric by the fraction you need. Use a straight ruler where no marked position suits the width.
