Choosing fabric die cutters and mats

Check the starter contents.

A starter may include a die and one mat. Those parts support the included shape. Other boards may require a different mat or machine. If you are shopping for a replacement mat, use the exact item number the maker lists for your die.

Plan the working clearance.

Leave room for the stack to enter and exit. A wide machine and long board can need more table space than the dimensions of the shapes they cut would suggest.
